Pulwama, Jun 11 (KNO): In a significant event symbolizing resilience and hope, Kashmiri Pandits performed hawan at Brari Mauj temple in Pulwama after a gap of around 35 years. This religious ceremony marks the first such gathering at the historic temple since the early 1990s, when the exodus of the Pandit community from the Kashmir Valley occurred. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the hawan was attended by a large number of Pandits, many of whom travelled from different parts of the country to be part of this momentous occasion at Murran, Pulwama. The air was filled with chants and prayers as the devotees performed the rituals with fervor and devotion. “Returning to our roots and performing the hawan here is a dream come true for many of us,” said Ashok Raina, who visited the temple from Delhi, who had last visited the temple as a young boy. “This place holds a deep emotional and spiritual significance for our community,” he said. He said that Muslims have always been supportive and they have extended their support as well. The event drew participation from members of the local Muslim community, who extended their support and joined in the festivities, showcasing a spirit of communal harmony. “This hawan is not just a religious ceremony but a step towards rebuilding trust and brotherhood among different communities in the valley,” said another participant. He said meeting his Muslim childhood friends was a dream come true for him. Notably, hawan was performed at the temple for the first time in the last 35 years—(KNO)
